Linear perspective makes it possible to communicate 3-dimensional forms in a 2-dimensional drawing. While 15th century artists had learned to represent human anatomy that way, Filippo Brunelleschi was one of the first to apply this to architecture. It required mathematical theory to calculate the lines connecting to the horizon and vanishing point to create perspective. Find out how he painted an exact copy of the Baptistry on a mirror.
