NoodleTools is a helpful resource you can use to take notes, organize your research, and cite the sources you used.

How To Cite Images

When you use an image in a paper or project, it is important that you cite it properly to avoid plagiarism and give credit to the creator. A basic citation should include:

  • The title
  • The creator, photographer, artist
  • The source (book, database, website, etc.)
  • Select 'Cite' underneath the image on the lower left-hand side of the page
  • Copy the MLA citation
  • In NoodleTools, create a new citation for an image and paste the citation you copied
  • Cite the website the image came from, not google
  • include the URL that takes you to the image
