Google Docs

You can now create citations in Google Docs! Go to Tools > Citations and select APA citation. You can add sources by filling out the form with the publication information. Then you can insert in-text citations as well as a References list with those sources. Be sure to proofread to confirm correct formatting.

Reminders when creating your References list

  • Title your reference list "References"
  • Indent the second line
  • Put in alphabetical order
  • Don't use bullets or numbers
  • Be careful with capitalization
  • Even if you found it online, it doesn't mean it's a website! Take an extra moment to correctly identify the type of source you're using and cite it properly.
