Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley is a book of fantasy, magic, and awe. Micah is a boy whose grandfather tells him stories of a magical circus, and a magician that promised Micah’s grandfather a miracle. But Micah’s grandfather is dying and Micah soon comes to realize that the only way to save him is to track down Circus Mirandus and the miracle promised over seventy years ago. Along with his friend, Jenny, Micah searches for the circus and a way to save his grandfather. While this book may seem to be pure fantasy on the outside, it delves into themes more common in realistic fiction, such as loss, friendship and many more. This book is incredibly well written in a beautiful and compelling way. The story building and character development is on point, and it is a very hard book to put down. I would definitely recommend it. This book is great to read at any time, and it is a compelling and beautiful story. ~ Iris, 6th grade.
