READING - 6th Grade Book Bingo 2021 (Virtual Book Tasting)

INTRODUCTION

• Welcome to our first-ever virtual book tasting!

GOAL

• To expand your reading horizons and find new books that you are excited to read. At the end of the tasting, you'll have a list of your top book choices that you will share so that you have books to read over Spring Break.

 

DIRECTIONS

• Listen to and follow all directions

 

BOOK TASTING - FOUR COURSES!

• You'll spend about five minutes exploring a book or two in each of the following categories:
  • First Course: A Book Resembling Real Life
  • Second Course: The Real Deal
  • Third Course: Blast From the Past
  • Fourth Course: Great Imaginings

AND

• You'll take notes in the section of your Book Tasting Menu that matches the category you just sampled to keep track of what books you liked before we move on to the next course:

 

                                           

 

SHARE

• Between courses, you'll have the opportunity to share the titles that sparked your interest and also recommend the books you've already read

 

BREAKOUT ROOMS - TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU SAMPLED

•   In small groups, you'll talk about what you sampled & liked and also recommend a book to a classmate 
  • What book stood out that you want to read more of?
  • What book would you recommend to who is in your breakout room?

• Fill out the google form listing your top four book choices. If you are attending school in-person you will list print books. If you are attending school remotely you'll list eBooks.
