Most of these resources require no logging in when you are on campus. 

To log in to any of these resources off campus, please consult the

password page.

General reference encyclopedias that encompass many topics.

A good place to begin your research and find background information.

Databases with archives of hundreds of academic journals.

Articles are written by experts in their respective fields. Journal articles frequently pose arguments and/or share the latest findings on a topic. 

Databases featuring thousands of academic ebooks in all subjects.

Ebooks present their research and arguments with more depth than a journal article. 

Access current periodicals through Flipster, The New York Times, and National Geographic

Gale databases feature curated current events articles on different topics.


Unlimited articles from The New York Times and search historical issues through Times Machine!

How to access your NYT account: 

  1. When you are on campus, visit nytimes.com/grouppass
  2. Create an account using your BC email address
  3. When you see "START YOUR ACCESS", the expiration date of your access will appear (one year from today).

 

Enjoy free access to WSJ while on campus.

Access historical archives of The New York Times and National Geographic.

Images and videos can also serve as important primary sources. 


Find primary source articles from historical issues of The New York Times with Times Machine.
