Welcome to the Science Research and Design Libguide! 

This site will help you get inspired, find reliable sources, and cite those sources responsibly.

Below you'll find information on the important distinction between magazine articles and those found in scholarly or academic journals. You'll also find sources for inspiration, including BCS magazine subscriptions accessed through Flipster and news articles in The New York Times.

  1. When you are on campus, visit
  2. Create an account using your BC email address
  3. When you see "START YOUR ACCESS", the expiration date of your access will appear (one year from today).


Find primary source articles from historical issues of The New York Times! Check out The New York Times Machine! (must have an account to access)

If you are unable to find relevant articles using the BCS Databases (see the next tab) and you encounter an article that you would like to purchase, please send your request to Ms. Murphy and cc your SRD advisor

Please include all available bibliographic information including the title, author(s), and year of publication. Please also include a link to the site where the article can be purchased.
